In 1939, British stockbroker Nicholas Winton, rescued 669 mostly-Jewish children from Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia. He kept it secret for over 40 years. In 1988, his wife discovered a scrapbook with all the children's names. The operation was called Czech Kindertransport, and Winton's been called the "British Schindler." Read more here.
